Map of the Cypress Hill Drive Area
As neighbors, we have identified the immediate area affected by the sewer gas odors: Cypress Hill Drive area and the Hughes Road area.
The sewer gas problem seems to begin at the Slate Creek Pumping Station. That facility began its life as a sewage holding pond for the newly constructed Nevada Union High School in 1961. Back then there were 300 students, currently there are 2,700.
Over the Slate Creek facility's 46 year lifespan it has been revamped, retooled, renovated and retrofitted to handle increased service loads and to meet the ever-changing demands and envrionmental laws. Below is a map of our the general area and a smaller map showing the area affected by the sewer gases.
